The island of Ischia is one of the hottest destinations for summer 2023, much to the displeasure of its fiercely loyal cohort of long-time visitors (this writer included)—but it was always an inevitability that word would get out about this wonderful 30-kilometre stretch of heaven in the glittering Gulf of Naples. Capri’s lesser-known (but far cooler) sibling, Ischia boasts exquisite food and drink, unbeatable natural scenery, smooth crystalline waters, and laid-back, southern Italian lifestyle mixed with a heady rush of volcanic energy.
